Cadence’s scouting report

Mike Tomlin is gone after nineteen seasons. Art Rooney II, an owner who built the franchise's entire identity on patience, conducted a coaching search with the tempo of a fire drill and emerged with Mike McCarthy, a Greenfield native whose qualifications include being older than Tomlin and having most recently been fired by Jerry Jones. Rooney's defense of the process was the sentence "we're really not worried about winning the initial press conference," which he delivered with a straight face. The 2025 season produced a division title, a missed Ravens field goal, a thirty-to-six home playoff loss, and an Aaron Rodgers–Tomlin meme economy so aggressive that Larry Brown Sports filed it under "out of control." Rodgers returns to play for the coach who drafted him in 2005.
